ANNOUNCING SELECTION TRIALS FOR HORSES FOR THE 2005 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL MILITARY HORSE SHOW
The United States Tent Pegging Association (USTPA) will be holding Selection Trials for horses to be used in 2005 North American International Military Horse Show (NAIMHS) in Sept. 2005. The Selection Trials will be held on June 23rd-25th, 2005 in Dallas, Texas.
The NAIMHS is an FEI regulated event with teams competing from countries such as Namibia, Egypt, United Kingdom, Canada, The Netherlands, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Qatar, Jordan, New Zealand, Australia, United States, & Israel. These teams are comprised of professional military horsemen and professional International competitors of which many are Olympic level competitors.
The NAIMHS is a Skill at Arms/ Tent Pegging event, which is a popular equestrian sport worldwide with a competition history of approx. 160 years. Horses selected for use in this event will receive training from these professional riders involving adaptation to edged weapons, such as Lance and Sword/Saber, and firearms. (All firearms used fire non-lethal rounds) We are confident in stating we return horses better trained than when we get them.
The horses that are selected will be in the care of our Barn Mgmt. under FEI guidelines as well as USTPA requirements. No horse is pushed beyond its mental and physical ability to perform the required tasks. Horses selected will be used for approximately ten days including the event.
